Position Title: TEMP - Account Manager, Benefits Department REPORTS TO: Manager, Benefits Department The Account Manager works collaboratively with Producers and other Account Managers to provide analytical and day-to-day support for current and prospective clients. This position is responsible for the development and production of benefit plan marketing reports in support of mid-size commercial employer group renewals and new business; rachael.a.cook@gmail.com prospects, as well as operational and administrative issue resolution. PRIMARY FUNCTION: Working collaboratively with Producers and Account Managers, produce benefit plan and cost comparisons, claims trend analyses, benefit summary presentations, and ad-hoc financial and marketing reports related to medical, dental, vision, life / AD&D, disability, and EAP plans. Interface directly with carrier representatives to determine the most appropriate benefit and cost solutions in response to a given client’s objectives. Interface directly with carrier representatives to resolve administrative or operational issues that adversely impact existing clients, and facilitate implementation of solutions as necessary to achieve a satisfactory outcome. Consolidate benefit proposals from multiple carriers into logical combinations of benefits, premiums and employer contributions for presentation to clients. Gain a thorough understanding of specific plan design proposals (e.g. coverage levels and options, eligibility requirements, exclusions & limitations, etc.) and advise Producers and other Account Managers of critical elements that could adversely affect client’s employees. When requested by supervisor, be prepared to assume the duties of the position of Benefit Analyst, when such help is needed. Develop and maintain organized Excel, Word and PowerPoint files related to a specific client or prospect. Assume other job responsibilities and/or special projects as assigned. QUALIFICATIONS: Five years of benefits administration experience (broker experience preferred) Strong Excel, MS Word & PowerPoint capabilities. Ability to multitask and change priorities midstream as required. Ability to compile, analyze, present, and interpret plan documents and cost information to facilitate decision making. Detail oriented and organized. Strong communication skills. Fluent Spanish speaking ability preferred Able to participate and contribute in presentations at client level Familiarity with ERISA, Section 125, FMLA, HIPAA, COBRA regulations a plus. Valid California Life and Health insurance license.
